Moving Forward!
MOVING FORWARD INTO A NEW YEAR OF SELF CONSCIOUSNESS, PRACTICE OF PATIENCE, ACT OF KINDNESS AND SELF LOVE.
People often say it’s important to come up with new year resolutions to start the year fresh but what is it that is important to do in order to move on and forward with life?
Is it just about a new list of things to achieve or should you be reflecting upon last year’s failures or mistakes, improving on what seems to be lacking instead?
In order to truly move forward, one must be able to let go of the past. That alone takes an enormous amount of courage, faith and trust. That alone is enough to keep us busy for a while. People think it’s easy to quit, but it’s actually never easy to let go. Letting go could take years, for some it might even take a lifetime. So let’s learn to take things slow, breathe into the new year, and be mindful of what we wish for.
Life is like a practice. A practice of mind, heart(body) and soul.
If you’ve done well in the past year then I say you maintain the right attitude and sustain that quality, don’t be greedy for more if you’re not ready for it. You know, it’s always easy to go fast but never easy to maintain on the same speed and that to me is just like finding the right balance in life. It’s never easy. Never.
I started practicing Yoga early last year and when the year came to an end, I was proud for myself for having started this whole new journey of self exploration. However, when the new year started, life goes on, the practice still goes on, I did not stop just because of having ‘achieved’ something. And I realized it feels even harder to maintain this practice on a regular basis. Just because I have done it once, it doesn’t make the next one easier. It’s the same thing. Doing the same thing over and over again can feel tiresome at times but it is also the challenge that we have to go through everyday.
Life is like a continuous cycle, it just goes on, but in which direction to go on is something within our control. So what would you choose? To repeat a good cycle or a bad cycle? To frequently find yourself stuck in difficult situations, or to feel good for making a right decision? To constantly overwork yourself and get shitty pay or to live a simpler life that ensures a good health?
Everyone has a choice. You will only find out by taking charge of your life today!

EARN ENOUGH MONEY TO SAVE
BABY STEPS TO A FASHIONABLY SUSTAINABLE LIFE:
Declutter, Cleanse, Renew – What are you going to do about the piles of clothes in your closet? Time to reset your own fashion library! Dig out what looks good, try it on and experiment different pairings with the same garment. Surprise yourself! Bored of what you have? Exchange with friends or give to those in need. Nothing should go to waste and let’s make life more fun by sharing what we have!
Develop new shopping habits – Do you know what you need before you go out shopping? Start by making a list of things that you actually need, and if nothing comes to your mind, it probably means you don’t need anything and that could save a shopping trip for another time when needed =)
Stop Comparing – Trends will never have an end; it’s like a vicious cycle that just goes on and on. If you’re looking to be stylish, first find out what suits your body type and identify what fabrics feels best for your skin. Buying clothes blindly for the brand or trend won’t last you any longer than a month. It will soon go ‘out-of-style’ if you follow by the book. However, if you’re able to identify what suits yourself, then you’ll no longer need to follow anything. Simply embrace what feels good on your skin and radiate from within =)
P.S THAT’S ALL MY TRICKS, there’s no secret!
Namaste,
