Sassy & The Green Bug: About the book
When we started Connected Threads Asia almost a year ago our mission was, and still is, to educate consumers about the negative social and environmental impacts of the industry and providing them alternatives to support the sustainability movement in fashion. We believe that education plays a vital role for this change to happen.
We are always looking at ways to inspire the community by providing new and relevant initiatives and opening doors for collaboration. When we put an amazing writer, Sheila Dickson, and the very talented illustrator, Debasmita Dasgupta, at one table, we immediately knew that we were going to do something very special in the increasing awareness of sustainable fashion in Singapore and beyond.
As we all know, fashion is for everyone and, what better way to spread that awareness to the younger generation than for them to be responsible for their fashion choices and decisions. It has been Connected Threads Asia's dream to help educate kids whilst having fun at the same time. Hence, we all decided to create a fashion children book that would engage children in seeing a different side of the world of fashion.
We are therefore inviting everyone to help our children by educating them about the fashion industry. The sustainable fashion movement is not a job for just one person, it is for all of us to take a role and ensure this happens. As our book develops we would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions to make this initiative not only educational, but most of all fun and engaging for our children to read. Together we can make an impact and with Connected Threads Asia leading the way to ensure that fashion is seen as a force for good for our children and for generations to come.
