Designing with Sustainability in Mind

We are delighted to have Kate Black of Magnifeco.com join us in Singapore to share how fashion designers can design with sustainability in mind.  Kate will give us an insight of the artisan / small designers / makers scene in the fashion scene overseas,  the use of technology to incorporate sustainability, the challenges they face in incorporating sustainability, and how they overcome them.

Venue: Prototyping Lab (OMG), 1/F, National Design Centre, 111 Middle Road. (Bugis or Bras Brasah MRT)

Kate Black is the founder and editor-in-chief of Magnifeco.com, the digital source for eco-fashion and sustainable living. She is regularly featured on the Huffington Post and is highly in demand as a speaker on ethical fashion. Her first book 'Magnifeco: Your Head-to-Toe Guide to Ethical Fashion and Non-toxic Beauty' came out in October.

Fashion Futures: Rethinking the T-shirt

What does it take to make one cotton t-shirt?

Many of us would probably think of "cotton", but the number of resources that go into making a single t-shirt goes beyond that.

Join Connected Threads Asia and our event partner, Sustainable Living Lab on the 15th January, 7pm as we explore how we can make the t-shirt more sustainable.

Swopping is the New Shopping

Clothes swaps are not only a good way to declutter and refill one's wardrobe, but are also considered a green way to reduce waste,  reduce the use of natural resources, and revitalize your closet without opening your wallet!

We invite friends and friends of friends to bring their no-longer-needed garments and accessories to swap. Spend the afternoon hanging out, finding new friends, trying on new outfits, and taking pictures.

A collaboration between Fashion Revolution, Connected Threads Asia, Top Swop and Kapok.
